This past Thursday, my extended family at BAYCAT (Bayview Hunters Point Center for Arts and Technology) hosted their winter open house. It was wonderful to see some of my old animation students developing their craft and branching out into other aspects of filmmaking. I love you, BAYCAT!
I’m posting one of my favorite animations from last spring’s open house, by youth media producer Tamara Ruiz.
This rising generation has some STORIES for us. I’m deeply honored to have been a small part in showing young artists how to use some of the tools for telling those stories.
P.S. If you know any youngsters in the Bay Area who are into digital media, they’re accepting applications for FREE CLASSES right now. As in eff, are, ee, ee. Tell someone.
